Billy Rios


Billy Rios is a proven leader in the strategic planning and execution of cybersecurity programs. As the Director of Vulnerability Research and Threat Intelligence with Qualys, Billy led development in vulnerability research, threat intelligence, ICS/SCADA, and embedded security products and services. Prior to Qualys, Billy managed Google’s frontline response for externally reported security incidents. At Microsoft, Billy was the Security Program Manager for the Internet Explorer product line and guided the company’s response to a number of high profile incidents, including Operation Aurora. Billy has also worked as a penetration tester and an intrusion detection analyst, and served as an active duty Marine Corps Officer.

Billy is one of the world’s top experts on emerging threats to industrial and medical devices and is credited for the discovery of thousands of security vulnerabilities in critical systems. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems, a Master of Science degree in Information Systems, an MBA, and a Masters of Military Operational Arts and Sciences.
