Every year we have between 3 and 8 S4 sessions drop out of the agenda. The speaker may need to cancel for personal reasons, job change, corporate restrictions, … The presentation is not accepted because it’s late, too commercial, differ than promised content, … We try to have 10 backup talks in the queue ready to step in the last week, day, or minute. Submit your backup talk proposal here.

Here are our requirements and recommendations for backup talks.

  1. Requirement: Only S4x26 attendees will be selected for the backup talk list. You have to be at the event to be able to step in.
  2. Requirement; You need to submit your backup presentation by January 31st for our review.
  3. Recommendation: Submit a presentation you have given or will give to another audience. Don’t create your presentation just for S4x26. It may not be needed.
  4. Recommendation: If you are a vendor, don’t submit something closely related to your product or service (we get a lot of these as proposed backup talks).
  5. Recommendation: S4 is designed for the advanced OT security pro. Avoid 101 or 201 level content. Generally, narrow and deep is better than broad and shallow.

When we have a cancellation we select a backup talk we believe will appeal to the audience of the cancelled talk.

Submit now and you may be on the S4x26 stage.
