We are excited to announce the Proof of Concept Pavilion (POC) Pavilion will debut at S4x26. The purpose is to demonstrate to S4 attendees OT security solutions solving a problem in an asset owner proof of concept deployment.

It took us a while to develop the approach, get the Pavilion Provider (who is bringing the ICS) on board, develop the rules, and feel confident we could pull this off. A final key was committing to be a hard ass if necessary and kick out paying sponsors who do not install and demonstrate their solution on the Pavilion ICS. No exceptions. No excuses.

The eight companies selected for the Pavilion will need to demonstrate their solution solving a problem at their booth and in a demonstration on the Pavilion stage (under technical questioning). We are hoping all eight solutions shine, do a great job. That’s a hope. The results will be transparent and available for all to see.

The ICS in the Pavilion is a manufacturing plant with four lines. Two lines are monitored and controlled by Siemens products, the other two are Rockwell Automation, and there is an Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA system that brings it all together. There is an MES and other elements that makes it highly realistic. We will work with the Pavilion Provider to produce the documentation package and support similar to what an asset owner would do in a POC project.

We should be able to announce the Pavilion Provider this month.

We are now accepting applications for the eight spots in the Pavilion. It’s a short application with two questions:

  1. What problem is your solution solving?
  2. What are the criteria to determine if your solution is successful.

Dale goes into more detail and rationale for the POC Pavilion in the 15 minute video below. If you are going to apply to be in the Pavilion it is essential you read the rules, schedule and other important information. If you think the Pavilion is a fit for your submit your application at this link or email us at info@s4xevents.com.
