The POC Pavilion will show live demos installed on a simulated automotive OT environment that Booz Allen is bringing to S4x26. Check out the POC Pavilion page and documents for the details on the problems being solved, success criteria, the plant environment, and how the live demos will be done.

It’s been cool to watch how the eight different proof of concept projects are progressing. Some thoughts:

  • We are in the phase where the asset owner (Booz Allen) has provided the vendors an information package on their environment and requesting any questions or issues that need to be addressed in advance.
  • Some of the eight have been very proactive, asking detailed questions showing they have a clear and replicable POC process. Others have asked questions that seem odd and unnecessary. Some have been silent. Is this confidence they can make it work regardless? A lack of progress? Year end work taking all bandwidth?
  • The integration between various vendors and asset owner systems is exceeding expectations. The two most interesting from an integration standpoint are ServiceNow (workflow management) and Frenos (risk posture). They are bringing in data from a variety of sources in the POC Pavilion.
  • The next step will be the preparatory Zoom meeting in January. It’s common to have one or more of these to make sure all are on the same page before the vendor team comes onsite for the POC.

Huge props and thanks to the Booz Allen team. They are doing a great job in playing the role of asset owner.
