Another keynote announcement: Dale Peterson will interview US Department of Energy, Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) Director Puesh Kumar on the S4x23 Main Stage in Thursday’s Keynote block. DoE, even well before CESER was established, has funded and initiated some leading edge programs. Dale will dig into what has worked and why, what hasn’t worked and lessons learned, what metrics CESER tracks, and what the future of CESER is in the next one to three years.
FYI DoE funded much of our (Digital Bond) research in the 2006 – 2010 timeframe that resulted in the first IDS signatures for ICS, Bandolier which created Tenable security audit templates for ICS used in energy, the first proof of concept of integrating process data into a SIEM, and more. We are excited about this because we regrettably never got Hank Kenchington on the S4 Stage.
