We got a ton of blowback at S4x16 (in 2016) when we told attendees we would take the afternoon of Day 2 off to hang around the pool in the Cabana Sessions. And after that first year it has been a highlight for attendees. In fact, it was one of the biggest things missed when we were in Tampa for S4x25.
There’s something about being in a social setting during the daylight hours that leads to longer and more meaningful conversations and interactions than a typical nighttime social event. People often say the best part of conferences is the hallway-con, the discussions with other attendees outside of the sessions. The Cabana Sessions multiply this benefit by 2x, 3x, 10x?
This will be the last Cabana Sessions around the Surfcomber pool as we bid farewell to Miami South Beach. At the cabana sessions you will have:
- Lunch and then refreshments throughout the afternoon
- Sponsor cabanas so you can talk to their technical and business experts in a relaxed environment. A lot of the sponsors have a fun activity as well
- Activities such candle making, temporary tattoos, games, …
- Book signings
- Swag
- And always some surprises
