The keynote block on Wednesday (Day 2) is looking great. Last week we announced Dale will be interviewing Gene Spafford. This week we are very pleased to announce Dale will also interview Berkshire Hathaway Energy’s President and CEO William J. Fehrman in the Wednesday keynote block. It is always informative to hear what an executive who is leading a key player in the electric and oil/gas sectors, see BHE description below, thinks about OT cybersecurity and OT cyber risk. Bill is however much more than a typical energy executive when it comes to security.
Bill was near the top of our S4 interview wish list because he is active leader in industry and public / private cybersecurity efforts. He is co-chair of the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council (ESCC), a member of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC), and serves as chair of the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC) Member Executive Committee. Bill Fehrman led industry participation in the Biden administration’s 100-day action plan to deploy cyberdefense technologies to defend grid operations centers and other vital industrial control systems. We could list more, but you get the idea that he is deeply involved in OT cybersecurity and risk management.
